E-commerce marketing agency Cómon: how we work
An online store does not sell by itself: it needs traffic that pays back. That is why e-commerce marketing starts not with picking channels but with working out the economics. How much do you earn from one order after cost of goods, shipping, returns and fees? How much can you pay for a customer and still stay profitable? We build advertising from that number, not from a “nice ROAS” in the ad account.
Why we count on margin
Google and Meta show revenue from conversions, but they know nothing about your returns, cancellations and cost of goods. A store buying sales at ROAS 3 with a 30% margin is losing money: break-even there is around 3.3. We bring those numbers into the reports, judge campaigns and products by profit, and switch off what only looks good on screen.
Channels we use
The base is e-commerce PPC: Google Search, Shopping and Performance Max on top of a clean product feed; see also Google Shopping management. Alongside it runs paid social on Instagram and Facebook with dynamic catalogue ads and retargeting. For the long run we add e-commerce SEO, email and social media marketing. TikTok is tested on small budgets before we scale it.
How much does e-commerce marketing cost
The price depends on the channel mix, catalogue size, niche and competition. As reference points, social media management starts from $700 per month, paid social from $500 per month and Google Shopping setup averages $50 per category. SEO for a small store with up to 100 category pages can cost about $800. The ad budget is separate. We do not sell “all included” packages without an audit: a one-size tariff rarely fits a specific store.
Common mistakes in e-commerce marketing
- advertising bestsellers with thin margins instead of the products the store actually earns on;
- running Shopping on a feed with errors and weak product titles;
- judging ads by leads and clicks rather than paid, non-returned orders;
- skipping retargeting and losing people who added an item to the cart;
- starting SEO without a technical audit or a clear category structure.
We check all of these in the express audit before any ad goes live.
What you get
- an audit and break-even ROAS by category;
- a core channel launch and gradual scaling;
- analytics, feed and retargeting set up as part of the launch;
- a monthly margin report and plan of changes;
- one marketer accountable for the result.
How to start
Leave a request or take the short quiz. We reply within one business day, ask for access to your site and analytics and prepare an express audit. It is free and shows exactly where the store loses money and which channels to launch first. If you sell fashion or flowers, go straight to the dedicated pages: fashion e-commerce and flower shops.
